I love to write. I love it. For me it is about spreading my message of wellness and mental health. But it’s also about the fact it is never too late to realize your dream.
My 6th grade teacher was convinced I would be a writer. But I pursued some other paths first. For a few reasons, and I don’t regret a single one of them. Because in the end they brought be here, using my experience, and my writing, to share my story.
You can find more pieces I have written for other publications below.

Change Your Habits, Change Your Mood
These small changes helped me improve my mental health.
Creating microsteps that lead to habits supported my health holistically. They became my physically, mentally, and socially healthy lifestyle that best supported my mental health, and got me through pregnancies and babies without the return of my mental illness.

I Made a Major Course Correction in My Career: Here’s What Happened
Letting go of my dream was the most passionate thing I have ever done. It’s how I found my true calling.
I believe the point of being a late bloomer is not just about choosing to stay in a job, to course correct direction, or to start over entirely. For women in particular, it’s not a question of skill or competency. It’s about allowing ourselves the opportunity to change, to let go of what was once important, and to give ourselves permission to move on to where we will thrive.

How Becoming a Parent Changed My Outlook on Life
I realized I knew nothing about real self-care.
What I have learned since becoming a parent is that real self-care is achievable. But I stopped trying to make grand gestures and massive lifestyle changes. I started instead with small daily changes, each of which supports my physical, mental, or social health. Every time I practice those small steps is an act of self-care.

The Decision That Changed My Life Forever
How to Declutter and Remove the Emotional Non-Essentials
I was not setting and maintaining boundaries. It had me focused on the things that did not support my well-being. Or my sense of purpose. It was emotional clutter. And it was definitely not essential to leading the life I wanted. It was getting in the way.

City of Fremantle Greening Fremantle Strategy 2020
Moving forward into the future we are going to need an alternative to privately owned greenspaces (also knows as single lots with large gardens).
Developing Healthy Relationships with Food
How to educate our children about where their food comes from, even if you don’t have a home garden, chickens or shop only at farmers markets.
Having a positive relationship with food, and understanding where your food comes from and all of the circumstances that influence it, is a lifelong process. As parents, we have the opportunity to let programs like Farm To Plate Education take the lead, and we can use those learnings to support healthy dietary options in the home.
Return to Family Camping
Family Camping … Do you love it? Always wanted to do it? But something is holding you back?
Camping is a fantastic way for families to spend time together, in nature and away from the distractions of modern lifestyle. It can be an inexpensive and straightforward getaway, making memories to last a lifetime.
Stay Active in Winter
Hiking is an excellent winter activity in Australia!
The colder weather, less intense sunshine, and the rain turn our hiking and walking trails from barren dryness into beautiful lush spaces. As a hiker, I love the winter. We don’t need to be up at the crack of dawn to get out there, and I don’t need to carry six litres of water for a one hour hike.
